Let Your Freak Flag Fly

Today is the feast day of St. Norbert, who in 1118 became an itinerant preacher. During this term he wandered throughout Northern France and performed “miracles of the Eucharist”. In one case, a large spider fell into the consecrated wine and rather than refuse the wine, he drank the spider too.

And the miracle? Rather than doing ghastly creepy spider things and biting him all the way to his stomach acid– it crawled out his nose.

Canonized in 1582, he is patron saint of Bohemia. Make sure it was worth it for him.
